At Momentous Performance, we redefine the boundaries of personal growth, mental resilience, and holistic well-being. At the heart of our philosophy is the belief that true performance extends beyond physical prowess—it encompasses the synergy of mind, body, and spirit.

Why We’re Unique

We’ve created a space that allows individuals or groups to experience therapy in a different way. Momentous Performance was born out of a need to offer great therapy in a non-traditional setting. We’re a 2,600 square-foot building that houses cardio and weight training equipment.

 

We recognize that mental health plays a crucial role in athletic performance and overall well-being. Our coaches are trained to provide support and guidance for athletes struggling with issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and stress. We offer a safe and confidential space for athletes to explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and cultivate resilience in the face of adversity.

Our Approach to Counselling

Our unique approach to individual counselling goes beyond traditional methods, offering you support in a non-traditional setting—right where you feel most empowered: the gym.

For those less interested in hitting the gym floor and more open to conversation in a comfortable environment, we offer sessions in our cozy office, too.

We offer sessions in person and online.

Brett Gardiner

(he/his)

Counsellor, Coach, & Consultant

Brett Gardiner works with athletes, teams and coaches to improve performance by helping them overcome mental and emotional barriers to performance.

 

Brett is a client-centred, solution-focused counsellor and coach who has a strong passion for helping all people reach their potential and live their best lives. As a Certified Canadian Counselor (CCC), Brett works with both individuals and groups, offering a variety of support in the area of mental health.

 

As a mental performance coach, Brett works with individuals and organizations and helps them build the necessary skills to perform at their very best while getting the most fulfilment out of their chosen sport and occupation.

 

As a consultant, Brett works with a range of clients to help establish, implement, and maintain mental health and mental skills programs that will best serve the client’s needs.

 

As the most awarded announcer in Western sports history, Brett speaks to over a million people annually and currently works at many of the industry’s most celebrated events.

 

Brett has a Master of Counselling Psychology degree and is currently working towards his Doctoral degree in Sport and Performance Psychology.

Darlene Ferris

(she/hers)

Registered Psychologist and Clinical Director

Darlene works as a registered psychologist in the province of Alberta and is one of the most respected and sought-after clinicians in her field. Darlene is a true expert in the area of trauma, and her experience in this area has made her a tremendous resource and therapist.

 

Before her career as a therapist, Darlene spent over twenty years in the public school system as a classroom teacher and administrator. That is where she would learn the importance of building and fostering relationships while supporting a diverse group of learners. She continues to stay connected to the education system, as she works as the director of wellness in the public school system alongside her clinical work.

 

Darlene was a former four-sport collegiate athlete who loves all things sports! She also enjoys the outdoors and, in her downtime, can be found fishing the rivers of Western Canada. Darlene’s incredible skill set, real-life experience and passion for helping have made her a true master of her craft.

Pawsitive Vibes Coordinator

Maggy is a 2-year-old golden retriever who loves people! You’ll see Maggy roaming around headquarters, and she’s available to sit in on your session upon request.

*If you’re highly allergic, please let us know, and we’ll keep her home that day.

Group & Team Area

Our group and team area is thoughtfully designed to accommodate both sports teams and corporate groups, offering a comfortable and inviting setting where teams can come together to strategize, brainstorm, and problem-solve. Weekly group sessions are also held in this space.
